Fighters for the Faith

The saints in this book believed strongly in the Church and in the truths about Jesus Chirst, proclaimed by the apostles and the bishops who followed them. All of these saints were themselves bishops who were called upon to defend these truths against pagan rulers, of teachers who taught false doctrines. Their defense of the faith often involved bitter struggles, persecution, and even death. Because of their efforts they can all be called "Fighters for the faith."
