Panegyrics on Saint Basil and Saint Athanasios
In the beauty of his writings, Saint Gregory surpassed the Classical writers of antiquity, and because his theological works so deeply express his personal experience of the union with God, the Church glorified Gregory and honored him with the surname “Theologian,” a title which he shares with the Holy Apostle John the Evangelist and Saint Symeon the New Theologian alone among the entire firmament of the saints.
