Apostle Luke: Life and Service

Of the life of the holy apostle Luke the Scriptures tells us a little; the Tradition of the Church adds some significant history. The life as it appears in the work of St. Dimitry of Rostov (here translated) pulls all this together, and forms a good spiritual basis for thoughtful entry into the hymns of the liturgical service in honor of the holy apostle — which may be used equally well in the services in Church, or in private devotions at home.
